Thomas is currently a Senior associate at Kampala Associated Advocates working with the Taxation and Litigation Department. He specialises in Taxation Litigation and Tax Advisory.

Since joining KAA, Thomas has been involved in various Taxation litigation and Taxation advisory tax disputes pertaining to; value added tax, income tax, excise duty and customs.

Thomas has extensive experience in Taxation and has been part of a team that has successfully represented several Corporations in complex tax disputes involving large tax assessments. He offers tax advisory services to companies including UBER B.V, Total Uganda Ltd, Tullow Oil, UMEME, Bujagali Energy Limited, Standard Chartered (U) Limited, Multichoice (U) Ltd, among others.

  • Part of a team that successfully defended MTN in a suit about the legality of mobile money transactions, and succeeded in having the suit dismissed.

  • Part of a team representing SG Bujagaali Holdings Limited in a multimillion dollar capital gains tax dispute.
  • Successfully represented Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in challenging and setting aside an Income tax assessment worth UGX. 4 billion arising from a dispute concerning internal deals in the bank.
  • Successfully represented Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in challenging and setting aside an Income tax assessment worth UGX. 13 billion arising from a dispute concerning provision of bad debts.
