Profile Summary

Ferdinand is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Harvard University USA where he graduated with a Master of Laws (LLM) specializing in taxation. Ferdinand is enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all courts subordinate. He has a second class upper honors degree in law from School of Law, Makerere University with a rare CGPA of 4.21 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. Ferdinand is currently an Senior Associate at Kampala Associated Advocates and is part of the Taxation, Corporate Advisory and Litigation departments in his areas of expertise.

He was the best student at School of Law Makerere University for the 2014-2014 intake and won the Chief Justice Award. He also scooped the Student’s Choice award from Law Development Centre for his role in assisting students to understand legal principles.

Ferdinand has legal expertise in taxation and is well versed with tax planning and restructuring, tax consequences of mergers and acquisitions and accounting which were his majors at Harvard University. He has exceptional research skills and has been an instrumental and valuable resource in numerous research teams pertaining to litigation and commercial transactions across various sectors of law.  He is well versed with the USA Federal Tax system and is familiar with several other international tax regimes. He has a good understanding of the international conventions pertaining to taxation and is keenly interested and experienced in the taxation of the digital economy particularly with regard to developing countries.

Ferdinand started out as a Grade III Teacher and has six years teaching experience both in Primary and Secondary Schools. As a result his presentation and organizational skills are exceptional. Ferdinand enjoys reading and is particularly inclined to classical music. He participates many charities and is partial to charity work focused on education of the gifted students and those with learning disabilities.

Inspired by his background as an educator, Ferdinand aspires to steer the study and appreciation of the law with the actual practice of law.
